First, thanks. No, really, thank you!
Our ability to produce professional theatre of the highest caliber rests upon a talented supporting cast of volunteers who choose to become more involved with Ensemble Theatre each season. Your commitment plays an integral role in our success and helps to us to remain part of a vibrant arts community. There are many ways to become more involved with Ensemble Theatre and we welcome the opportunity for you to join us behind the scenes.
Ensemble Theatre's volunteer organization is the ETC Entourage, a vital and enthusiastic group of individuals working diligently to enhance and help achieve our mission. Members of the Entourage assist with publicity and outreach programs, perform administrative tasks, provide meals during technical rehearsals, help transport visiting actors, and usher at shows.
Our volunteers make up the largest part of the theatre's staff and, after the actors, are the members most visible to the public. As an Entourage member, you serve as an ambassador for the theatre and are responsible for maintaining Ensemble Theatre's professional reputation and integrity by ensuring each patron feels welcome and enjoys their visit.
There are over 200 Entourage members and we are always looking for new volunteers to donate their time and talents. As a volunteer, you will enjoy the privileges of being a part of our exciting theatrical family and making new friends.
All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and attend a training session (upcoming sessions listed under Benefits Tab), which take place at the beginning of each season.
- The opportunity to meet others who share your interest in great theatre
- The opportunity to observe and participate in activities beyond performances
- Invitations to special events
- The opportunity to usher at shows and receive free tickets
To become an Entourage Volunteer (which includes ushers), you will need complete the Entourage Volunteer Application and attend a Volunteer Orientation Session, which are held at the beginning of each season.

All ushers must complete and submit the Usher Scheduling Request Form each season, regardless of their length of service. This ensures we have current contact information and can adjust our usher schedule based upon volunteer availability for the next season. Upon completing your Entourage Orientation, you will be emailed an Usher Scheduling Request Form. If you are a current usher, the Volunteer Coordinator will email you the form in early July.
Usher assignments will be emailed by mid-August for the coming season. Please understand although we strive very hard to accommodate everyone's schedules as much as possible, with over 150 active volunteers, we may not be able to meet your exact requests, so you must provide at least two alternate schedule options, otherwise you will be added to the substitute list.
